Dear Family and Friends,

Tonight at 7:20 MST our dad joined our Heavenly Father, our Savior, Grandma Savage, his sister Becky, and countless others who love him and have been waiting for him to rejoin them.

When we stepped outside after he had gone, we found that there was a giant double rainbow outside. We all felt like Heavenly Father and Dad had sent it to us to let us know that they love us, and he's okay.

Love you Dad. We sure do miss you.

Love,

The Savage Family

  3. We love you all so much. Thank you for keeping us informed. We pray that you will have peace and are so grateful for the plan of salvation.

On another note, Blaine must not only be seeing those who have come before but also I am sure he was there to greet my father as he passed away about 2 hours ago.
God bless you all and know you are all in our thoughts.

  5. As I look at the picture of your family at the beach, I think of seashells which remind us that every passing life leaves something beautiful behind. May the beauty of your Dad’s life live on in your memories and bring you peace and comfort and strength in each other’s love throughout this difficult time. Our hearts reach out to you and your family with love, with sympathy, and with caring. You are in our prayers. Much love, Terry and Barbara

  6. A rainbow at the end of the storm signifying peace at last! How beautiful!. He fought so hard to stay physically with you. Now there will never be a time he is not with you and you will be able to feel his presence when you seek it.

When my mother passed away the physical pain of losing her was so bad it was hard to breathe, but when I looked and felt, there were signs of her all around and I could smile. In her case it was more electrical storms than rainbows, but the sense of her presence was strong. It still is. And I still miss her.

If you ever have a question of what to do, stop and listen and notice and he, as well as your Heavenly Father, will be there to guide you. You all have many angels on your side.

My love, thoughts and prayers are with you...

    Scott

  10. So sad to lose such a good man on this side of the viel. No words of consolation can touch what you all must be feeling. Know that you are not alone and that our thoughts are with you often.

  11. We are so thankful for your family, for your faith, you example, and love! I'll always remember one of the last things I heard Bishop Savage say at Church. He referred to a hymn that gave him strength, "Be Thou Humble" What a humble servant of the Lord he is.

    Our love and prayers,

  13. Parting is bitter sweet. The courage and faith of Blaine, Marleigh and the children will be a high bar for each us in our own lives. Thank you all for sharing this journey of faith with us. Surely, we have witnessed the workings of God in your struggles - knowing and witnessing that we all will face the refiner's fire to purge and sanctify ourselves before re-entering the heavenly realms. It certainly will be said that Blaine Savage fought the good fight, kept the faith, loved his family, the Lord, and all that goes with these things. May the Lord continue to bless and strengthen Marleigh as she now faces the future (with faith) without her husband to share.

  17. Dear Savage Family,

My heart aches for you. You are and will be in our thoughts and prayers. You have been so generous and giving to us all throughout Blaine's illness. Thank you so much for giving so much of yourselves and keeping us updated. You are all amazing and we love you. I hope you can feel the love from your family in the east. We will fast and pray that you will find comfort from the Lord.

I am going to miss my Dear Friend and mentor. He believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. He challenged me to be a better husband, father , Priesthood holder, and friend. Not only in word but more importantly through his shining example. Blaine was a tireless servant of the people around him and the lord. I cannot express in words how much Blaine means to me and how he profoundly affected my life when I was at a Crossroads. I will be forever greatful that I was able to share a brief moment in mortality knowing Blaine Savage, my mentor, my Bishop, my friend. I look forward to the day when I can see him again. He will probably crack a smile and tell a joke and we will all be happy. I miss you Bishop. I love you .

I love you Savage Family. We pray for you and mourn with you.

  18. Dear Marleigh and family, Such a courageous battle Blaine fought and your care/strength was a critical part of it Thankfully, we have the knowledge of the Gospel and know that Blaine has moved on to the next chapter of his life. The Lord called two wonderful fathers, husbands and Priesthood holders home this week. Brother Jim Duchene (formerly Laconia Ward & Wolfeboro) passed on Monday evening in Florida; I'm sure he was part of Blaine's welcoming party. You are in our thoughts and prayers, Dave & Carol Varney

  19. Thank you for sharing Blaine's valiant struggle with cancer. He definitely showed incredible courage, faith, and insight through the many challenges he endured. The Apostle Paul's words come to mind: "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness..."

Certainly, Blaine owes much of his legacy to his stalwart wife and truly good children. Thank you for enduring your own personal struggles as you've witnessed your husband's/father's declining health. Thank you for sharing your faith, hope, and testimonies. You are an amazing family and you are strong.

We know you will miss your dear husband/father very much. That is because he loved you and you loved him, and "mourning is one of the deepest expressions of love." May Lord be with you as you press forward with faith in Him.

    With love,

  24. You all are in our prayers. My eyes filled with tears and, Marleigh, my mind went back to all the fun I had with my "big sister" and the love that you showed to me...I could only imagine the love that you show your family and the great example you are. I love you.
