To Seattle and back....

Marleigh and I have always wanted to go to Seattle, to view the coast and maybe see a whale or two.

Well, it never really worked out with work and then moving to the East. But it's always been in the back of our minds. Maybe on our twentieth wedding anniversary -which didn't work out so well since I was on an airplane headed to Huntsman on that day.

This past week we were able to make it happen, with the help of many, many people; my cousin John and his wife Mary and their great kids, Jenn at the Huntsman clinic for making the arrangements with the Seattle Cancer Clinic, Josh Smart (Captain Josh), James and Jesse for making sure our van was road worthy, Toni at the kennel, and Sue & family, to name a few. Thanks to all those who helped, it's been a long time in the making and has created memories that will last a lifetime for me and my family.

We had a GREAT time. Captain Josh took us out to the San Juan Islands were we saw Orca (Killer Whales), fished, jelly fish, seals, eagles, and even some big horn sheep (go figure).

The kids loved going to the beach with their cousins where they caught clams, oysters, and jelly fish (the dead and non poisonous kind). They also swam and kayaked.

Again, we had a great time. I'll throw in some photo's and call it good for this blog.

  7. Dear Savage Family, The picture of Blaine holding Dani and Josh (titled Joshua's Birthday) cracked me up! He looks like he was the one that had just given birth, in a hospital bed, in a hospital gown!:) But my favorite one was the first and final picture because, holding that notebook, he looks like he's on the Lord's errand, which is the impression I had of him whenever I saw him around. May the Lord continue to bless you with peace and security. We hope to see you some day around NH, a place where I know you will be missed. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.
    Lovingly,
The Spencer Family from Hooksett, NH

  8. To Elder Savages Family, not sure you will even get this, but I have just now found your family's blog and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Connie (Waynick) Austin. Blaine served part of his mission in the town that I live in. I'm not sure if he told you just how much fun we had out here. I am so sorry for the loss of your wonderful husband, father, and I still consider, my friend. He and my family have many cherished memories and I have thought of him more times than I can count. Even though we had lost touch through these many years, I always thought of him, out there! Please know that all of you will forever be in my prayers. Thank you all for the blog, I can't imagine how difficult this was for all of you, but I appreciate being able to see my dear friend and his beautiful family again. With Heavenly Father's many blessings, Connie

    1. Connie,
I just read your comment, and hope that you can at some point read this reply. I am grateful to hear from you. I didn't know if anyone from his mission knew. I would love to hear more, and am grateful to know he is thought of. He has been an incredible husband and father. My children will be forever blessed to have him, even though the time here was too short. My older two are both leaving on thier own missions: our son in August to Lima, West, Peru; and our daughter in September to Montevideo, Uruguay. They will be wonderful, and carry so much of thier Dad with them. The younger two are doing well, and looking forward to missions themselves. Thank you again, and please, email if you would like.
