Wifey's Turn

Hello all. Blaine has asked me to make the next post, so here I go.

1st, he is doing great right now. He has had two chemo infusions, and is on daily oral chemo drugs as well. All together, there are three chemo drugs and numerous others. He literally has a bag of perscriptions worth about $5000.00. Don't lose that one!

2nd, his outlook is amazing. Incredible. He is definately not a whiner. I don't think I've heard a complaint out of him. His positive attitude will get him far in terms of his recovery, and all of the faith and prayers in his behalf are sending him soaring along so much the faster.

3rd, I don't think that a day goes by that Blaine and I are not touched deeply by something that someone or ones says or does in our behalf. We have had so many people give us a small gift, or a large one, express thier love, tell us that they and their famillies are praying for us, put a hand on a shoulder, give us a hug, take a moment out of thier day, or go way out of thier way to show us their love and kindness with servicce and means, reach out to our children (so very appreciated) call, email, etc. You are making this so much easier to do. We love you so very much, and are grateful in so many ways.

I think we may look back on this as a growing time, and in many ways, a time when we realized how very much the Lord loves us, and how much we are loved by others. What a tremendous, priceless gift. We are ok, thanks to God, to all of you, and to a tremendous willpower and positive attitude. Way to go, Blaine! What a hero, at least to me.

In case we haven't said it enough...

It is hard to put into words (and more often than not makes me cry like a baby-but I'll deny it asked about it:)) the kind, loving support that we have received as a family. From prayers to meals to baysitting to phone calls to tires, and so many other things it's hard to mention them all. I know that our family name has been placed on prayer rolls across the country (from LDS Temples to the local Catholic & Baptist prayer rolls, and others). Our LDS Stake (12 congregations thoughout NH and VT) and Dani's BYU Ward/congregation will be fasting for us this Sunday (again, the crying like a baby thing-still will deny it).

So again, in case we haven't said it enough; Thank you for the love, kindness and support you have shown to us. This has been a difficult couple of months but it has also been a wonderful couple of months. We have felt closer to family, friends and to our Heavenly Father than ever before. We love you and appreciate all of you. Our faith is strong and we know that we are going to get through this.

Here we go....

March 23, 2009

First day of Chemo... So far so good. Spent the morning at DHMC; lab work, consulting with Dr. Reddy, and Infusion. They say I might not lose my hair. No nausea yet, hopefully it will stay that way, or at least stay under control. Kyle was throwing up last night, he tends to do that when he's worried about his Dad. Now that he sees that I'm ok, he seems much better.
