(to the tune from Gilligan's Island)
So sit right back and I'll tell a tale
A tale of a sinking ship
The basement flooded, all looked lost
The sewage it did stink
The sewage it did stink
We called a friend who felt our pain
Came running to our aid.
Brought an excavator, shovel too,
to help us flush again
We needed to flush again!
He dug and dug and dug some more
No fear did he display
The smell was bad, his courage strong,
He fixed our pipes and field
Yah, he fixed a field
(Our leach field, that is)
His wife she felt our pain as well
dishes, laundry and tempers were high
She brought us dinner, cookies too!
Our thanks we did provide!
Much thanks we did provide!
The dinner was completely scarfed,
the family did disperse,
for ball games called, and cleaning up,
the stinky basement mess
Oh how not fun that was!
The showers were amazing too
The feeling one of joy
as water ran freely through
our new unbroken pipes
Much to our delight
This silly little ditty now
relates a precious tale
of friends whose love and kindness too,
went far above and beyond
and we are blessed by you!
Thanks so much, Sweet family! You SAVED us!
And we love you.
Take care!

Oh, yuk!!! How wonderful that people had that opportunity to serve you!! Yes, that Lisa Sweet and Vic St Pierre are some good people to have in your corner. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear that Blaine is progressing so well. We are headed out tomorrow to Ohio to visit our friend who started chemo and radiation today, for his throat cancer. I heard today that one of my classmates has lung cancer. It seems this disease has touched way to many people in our lives, lately.
Keep doing as well as you have been. We pray for you regularly.
Hugs!
Alanna
Yes, the more we walk down this road, the more people seem to come out of the woodwork who are or have been affected by cancer. Thank heaven for modern medical advances, and I think we all need to watch what we eat, and what we expose ourselves to. We can do the best we can, and know that this life is meant to try us. Look for the blessings in the trial, and Praise God for life and breath. He knows our trials, and can and will help us through. OK, I'm done. :) Marleigh
ReplyDeleteMy fearless, courageous (and stinky!) husband walked with a certain lightness in his step yesterday. It blesses us to be able to help. We cannot take away your biggest cross, but are so happy to be able to help in whatever way we can.
ReplyDeleteAnd we love you, too.
BTW, loved the little ditty, and as long as we have a Gilligan's Island theme running, can I be Ginger???? :)
God bless you all,
Lisa
You be Ginger, and I'll be Mary Anne!
